Pastor's Vision:
"I love the people that God has entrusted to me to
shepherd here in Hayward
at New Hope Christian Fellowship. It is an awesome honor and
privilege to
be where I am today. My heart cries out
to the Lord for the lost and hurting in our community.
“We are a small
church with a great sense of care and
concern for each other and our community. I
believe
that
anyone
who
graces
the door of
our church will feel love,
acceptance, and encouragement to begin a personal relationship with
Jesus. People from all walks of life and
ethnicity
are reflected in our worship services. I
believe this is the way it should be for any church reaching out in the
Bay
Area of California.
“I try to make my
messages ones that will help people where
they are at. We all struggle and face
difficulties in life. We need to know
that a personal relationship with Jesus is important to living
differently and to
making a difference in the world in which we live.
If we can’t make the Christian life relevant
to the people we see everyday at work, at play, and at the marketplace,
how can
we expect those same people to want what we have?”
Family:
Pastor Victor and his wife, Cindee, have been married for six years and
between them they have five children and five grandchildren.
History:
Pastor Victor was born in Salinas, California. He moved to
Bakersfield, California, about 1969. He was the oldest of six
children. Poverty and dysfunction were the norm as he grew up,
which led him down a bad path. He got involved in drugs and
alcohol at the age of 11. PCP became his drug of choice. He had
heard the gospel story as he was growing up, which led to the day (at
the age of 18) when he accepted the Lord as his Savior and began to
serve Him with his whole heart.
Pastor Victor felt a call to ministry when he was 19 years old.
He attended the Victory Outreach School of Ministry from 1984 to
1987. He served as an Associate Minister and Itinerant Evangelist
with Victory Outreach Ministries. He served as an Associate
Pastor at Faith Fellowship in San Leandro, California. He was
licensed with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in
2004. He accepted the position as head pastor at New Hope
Christian Fellowship in 2004, and has been here since that time.
